Unions representing easyJet cabin crew in France had previously filed a strike notice that covers the period August 7th to September 2nd, meaning that they can call last-minute strike action at any time during this period.
When they filed the strike notice in response to a long-running dispute about working conditions, the three unions - SNPNC-FO, l'UNPNC-CFDT and l'UNAC-CFE-CGC - clarified that precise details of strike mobilisation would be released later.
On Wednesday they announced the first call for walk-outs, covering Saturday August 15th and Sunday August 16th.
The exact level of disruption depends on how well-supported the strike is, but it is a nationwide action so could potentially affect all easyJet flights going to or from France.
"Any flight cancellations or disruption resulting from these days of industrial action will be solely the responsibility of EasyJet," the unions state, whilst saying they are "willing to resume talks" in order to secure proposals that are "binding and commensurate with the stakes".
For months, the unions have been criticising the instability of work schedules, last-minute changes, imposed ‘trippings’ (a series of flights over several days), particularly gruelling rotas and the lack of protective measures.

The August 15th weekend is a peak time for travel in France as it encompasses both the August summer holiday and the festival of Assumption.
