"It was my 30th birthday this month. I had just planned for a small gathering on the day. I haven’t had exciting birthday celebrations since moving to Sweden as I haven’t had many people to celebrate with. I’ve only recently made a group of friends and didn’t want to impose any big plans on them. The day before my birthday a friend surprised me by taking me out for dinner at a really nice restaurant. On the way back from the restaurant, all my new friends surprised me by jumping out from a street corner. Then we all went out to do some fun group activities and get drinks at a nice bar. At midnight they brought in my 30th with me. Then we met up the next day again for the plan I had already made. It made me feel very special, valued, and like I had truly made a great life for myself here with wonderful people at last! And now I will have fond memories of turning 30 for life!" – Anonymous
