DB Bahn allows me to buy only 3 months in advance. And, by the way, this is not a big advantage. On my last few long distance trips, the trip itinerary was cancelled and that requires a trip to the Bahnhof to get new seat assignments. That is because the smart phone app does not yet provide a way to get new seats on a changed itinerary. But with all the issues, I still prefer train over driving. One day the train service will be better.
