A man in his 20s was shot and killed close to Grønland subway station in Oslo early Sunday morning. The police have brought in two people for questioning.

The man who was shot was initially attended to by health personnel at the scene but was pronounced dead a short time later.

One person was reportedly seen running away from the scene of the crime.

Police task leader Rune Hundere told news bureau NTB that the police have reason to believe that there is a relationship between the perpetrator and the man who was shot and killed.

He added that the deceased is a man in his 20s.

"We have spoken to some witnesses, but not many have seen the incident. We are working on mapping out the video surveillance at the site," operations manager Line Skott in the Oslo Police District said.

Two people brought in for questioning

The police have deployed large resources to search for the perpetrator.

At 9 am, Renate Medby in the Oslo police announced that two people had been brought in for questioning, according to the newspaper VG.

"We do not think this is a case of a random shooting, so considering the information we have, there is no reason to believe that there is a danger to the public in the area," Skott added.
