Denmark opens for isolation-free tourism to and from Germany, Italy and Austria
Denmark classified Germany, Italy and Austria as "yellow" on Friday, meaning tourists can travel to Denmark without testing in advance or isolating on arrival.
The country's foreign ministry also shifted Slovakia and Rwanda to "yellow", together with several European regions: the Peloponnese in Greece, Jadranska Hrvatska in Croatia, Zug and Ticino in Switzerland, and the Spanish enclave of Ceuta.
Under rules brought in last month, travellers coming from “yellow” countries no longer have to show a negative coronavirus test before boarding their plane and do not have to self-isolate on arrival.
Travellers who are not vaccinated, or who have not tested positive for coronavirus and recovered within the last six months, however, need to take and pass a test on arrival in Denmark. See the rules here.
The change also means that people from Denmark are no longer advised against unnecessary travel to these countries, with Italy and Germany often ranked in second and third place after Spain in the list of Danish tourism destinations.
