100,000 people to be vaccinated against Covid-19 today
Health services across the country plan to give the Covid-19 vaccine to 100,000 people today, which will be the highest number Denmark has managed in a day by some distance.
Although progress of the vaccination programme is still limited by delivery numbers, an exceptionally large number will be vaccinated today to test how well the country’s setup manages once capacity increases.
Health minister Magnus Heunicke wrote on Twitter that giving 100,000 people the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines in one day would “arm us for the coming period in which delivery plans show that we must be ready to receive large deliveries”.

Businesses open in delayed municipalities
Last week saw a range of coronavirus restrictions eased across the country in the latest step of the government’s reopening plan. That included allowing various service sector businesses, such as hairdressers, to reopen.
At the time, a few municipalities were excluded from some of the eased restrictions because of high local incidences of Covid-19.
Businesses in Brøndby, Halsnæs, Fredensborg and Gladsaxe have now been allowed to open on the same terms as the rest of the country, broadcaster DR reports.
More demonstrations in Copenhagen during weekend
Protests against anti-virus measures were held on Saturday in Copenhagen.
Hundreds of people gathered in the city in opposition to a new "corona pass".
The pass certifies that someone has either been fully vaccinated, has tested negative in the previous 72 hours or has tested positive two to 12 weeks earlier, conferring immunity to the virus.
The demonstrations have become a regular occurrence since before the corona passport came into effect.

Sun and double-figure temperatures to return this week
After an April weekend full of snow, rain and biting winds, the forecast for this week’s weather could not really offer much other than improvement – and it does.
A high-pressure front will move across Denmark in the coming days, resulting in drier weather, sunshine and temperatures gradually increasing towards 12-13 degrees Celsius by the next weekend.
Denmark’s weather at this time of year is highly susceptible to the direction of the wind, according to the national meteorology institute DMI. Winds from the north can still bring cold wintry weather, but the warmer climate of southern Europe can also sometimes be felt.
