From December 19th, almost everyone arriving in Austria will need to quarantine for ten days.

Those required to quarantine will need to print and complete a form.

What are the rules of Austria’s quarantine?

The quarantine applies to everyone arriving in the country - i.e. Austrian citizens, residents and non-Austrians.

More information about which countries are exempted from the quarantine list is available below.

To enforce the quarantine, Austria is carrying out random checks at border crossings and elsewhere in the country.

Since the quarantine came into place on December 19th, more than three quarters of a million checks have been carried out.

Austria’s coronavirus quarantine was set to remain in effect until at least January 10th, however a government official told The Local on January 6th that it would remain in force "until further notice"

What form do you need?

Before arriving, you will need to complete a 'Declaration of Quarantine' form. This form is available here in English and should be kept on you at all times when entering Austria.

The form asks for information about all arrivals, including name, date of birth and nationality.

The form also provides details about the quarantine requirement, as well as information about exceptions to the quarantine rules.

While the exceptions to the quarantine rules are relatively limited, more information is available here
