According to the statement, both royals "are experiencing milder flu symptoms but feel well under the circumstances".

Together with their children, Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel, the family are currently quarantining.

Contact tracing is being carried out, which includes King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, the King's daughter Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel. An update from the Swedish Royal Court on Thursday afternoon stated that the King, Queen, Victoria and Daniel had all tested negative.

The family was in close contact last Friday at the funeral for the Queen's brother. Prior to the funeral they had all tested negative for Covid-19, said the Royal Court.

Around the world, several royals have tested positive for the virus, including the UK's Prince Charles and Prince William as well as Monaco's Prince Albert.
