Austria’s nighttime coronavirus curfew extended until late November
As was widely expected, Austria will extend the night-time coronavirus curfew for a further ten days until late November.
The decision, which will be made on Wednesday by the National Council, is widely considered to be a formality.
When the initial announcement was made, Austrian authorities advised that legal restrictions prevented them from putting in place the nighttime curfew for more than ten days at a time.

All of the other lockdown measures announced in late October and put into force from November 3rd have already been extended until the end of the month.
The National Council is planning to evaluate the effectiveness of these measures “in the coming days” to see if a reduction in new infections can be determined.
Nevertheless, with new case numbers continuing to rise, the nighttime curfew is expected to be extended until the end of November at the least.
