The palace confirmed on Monday afternoon that the King had left hospital, news wire NTB reported.

Shortly after news of King Harald’s hospitalisation broke on Friday, Queen Sonja confirmed that he was doing well under the circumstances and was expected to recover quickly.

Covid-19 was quickly ruled out as a potential cause of his symptoms.

He will be on sick leave until October 4th, the palace said. Crown Prince Haakon will take over his duties in the meantime, including the opening of parliament on October 2nd.
