It's a chocoholic's ultimate dream: a town in Switzerland was covered in a light cocoa dusting due to a mishap at a factory.

Residents in the town of Olten in the canton of Solothurn got a surprise last week when chocolate snow seemed to fall from the sky.

Small chocolate shavings rained down on the town, which lies between Zurich and Basel, after a malfunction at a Lindt and Sprüngli factory.

The company confirmed in local reports on Tuesday that there had been a small malfunction in the cooling ventilation in the area making cocoa nibs in its factory.

Due to strong winds on Friday morning, the powder spread outside around the factory leaving a cocoa dusting.

The chocolate factory offered to pay residents for any cleaning needed, but so far no one has taken them up on the offer.
