Denmark launches downloadable Covid-19 passport

Denmark's government has launched a "coronavirus passport", which all adult residents can freely download from the national health website and use when travelling abroad.
Danish citizens must first apply to be tested through the coronaprover.dk website, then, if they test negative, they can download an official coronavirus certificate by logging into the country's national health website sundhed.dk using their NemID.
"In many places you might be required to document a negative Covid-19 test, and with the new Covid-19 passport, we now have a digital offering for Danes who need to be able to bring an official documentation of a test on their journey," the country's health minister, Magnus Heunicke, said in a press release.
It will only be possible to download the passport if the test is negative and less than seven days old.
Parents will also be able to secure a Covid-19 passport for their children using their own NemID login. Children over the age of 15 will be able to log in and receive a passport themselves.
Michael Svane, chief executive of the Confederation of Danish Transport, welcome the move.
"It will certainly help Danes who have to travel with work or privately," he told the Ritzau news wire.
“We are in a time when, as a traveller, you encounter many obstacles. But the covid-19 passport is easy to access and very easy to use."
Denmark currently requires Swedes living in the border regions of Skåne, Halland and Blekinge to show proof of a negative test before being able to cross the border into Denmark, if they do not have a "worthy reason" to do so.
The World Health Organisation in April warned against so-called "immunity passports", which would allow people who can prove they have had Covid-19 and recovered to travel more freely, arguing that the extent of immunity people gain after being infected was still in doubt.
