Switzerland Tourism are looking for four ’TikTokers’ - social media savvy influencers familiar with the platform TikTok - to get paid to travel the country and document their journeys.

The callout looks for digital enthusiasts who are at least 16 years of age, speak fluent English and “probably spend a bit too much time on TikTok before going to bed”.

The callout starts with “Dang,dang,diggitydang-a-dang”, which isn’t Swiss German or Romansh, but probably something only intelligible to TikTok users.

The Chinese social media app was launched in 2017 outside of China and has since become extremely popular, particularly with younger people.

EXPLAINED: Why Switzerland is 'the world's safest country for travellers'

The app has been downloaded more than 1.5 billion times. The average user is 23 years old and the majority of users are female, making it an attractive platform for advertisers.

Switzerland Tourism plan to use the campaign to encourage younger people to travel Swiss-wards,

The job specifications make it clear that only serious TikTok users should apply, with a series of questions that only a real ‘TikToker’ would know the answer to.

The questions include ‘Why does Heather have to shut up?’ and “Do you know that FY is not an insult?”
