From plus energy houses in Stockholm’s Östermalm borough to retrofitted banks in the heart of the city, the Swedish capital is going green with full force.

Stockholm is growing faster than ever so you might assume this leaves little room to think about the climate. You'd be wrong. Sweden's construction industry has found climate-saving ways to build bigger, better, and more beautiful offices and homes.

From trailblazing projects such as Östermalm's stunning Backåkra 2 – so-called plus energy houses that can sell some of the energy they generate on the electricity grid – to the retrofitted offices of Sergelhuset, construction companies are pulling out all the stops to build the climate-friendly city of tomorrow.
