Dozens of Britons took to the streets of Malaga on Sunday to protest against Brexit and express their anxiety at loss of rights if the UK crashes out of the EU without a deal.

Brits of all ages came together to stage the demonstration in Malaga’s Plaza de la Constitucion on Sunday at 11am marching together beneath banners with the chant “Fuera Boris” and the ever popular “Bollocks to Brexit”.

“We feel really forgotten here in Spain,” said Michael Soffe, a 61-year-old businessman who has lived in Malaga for 30 years. “Many here are pensioners - will they lose their healthcare overnight, for example?” he added.

“They’re trying to make us leave the EU” and “Take back control: My grandkids’ future” read some of the signs held aloft by the protestors.

Chief among fears of those living in Spain is the uncertainty over continued healthcare if Britain fails to make a deal before October 31st

Britain's health secretary Matt Hancock announced on Monday that health costs for UK pensioners living in the EU and those with disabilities would be covered for six months if Britain leaves the bloc on October 31st without a deal.

Spain has already brought into law a set of contingency plans if the UK crashes out of the EU without negotiating a deal but it is based on reciprocity, so if the UK fails to provide similar rights for Spanish nationals living in Briton, the offer will be void.
