How old are you and what do you normally spend your days doing?

I'm 33 and work full time at Google as an engineer, so I spend most of my time at work I travel a lot around Europe, so when travelling it's usually work, food with colleagues, then watching a movie at the hotel before bed and gym if I can squeeze it into my schedule.

When not travelling I have a better schedule. I always hit the gym for one hour, then home to eat and relax with a movie, documentary or book. I've been spending my weekends so far cooking for the week (batch cooking saves time and money), exploring some new areas around Stockholm (not much in winter) and/or meeting friends for a drink or food.

Hi everyone, i didnt had time to post stuff today beyond the stories as my day was pretty long and it didn't stop at the event i was at :) TL;DR my day was long i will spare you the details :) Anyways today at the office we had a Swedish Xmas lunch (julbord) which is a mix of cold and hot dishes and it's amazing because you can choose what you want to eat. There is a tradition in Sweden on how to eat from the julbord (Start by cold then go to hot...) but i my self don't follow as i'm a bit of a foody and i want to try everything now :). If i have to pick the jansson temptation is my favorite. Wish you a good end of Friday everyone and looking fwd to share more with you on the weekend Photo credits @stephaniekaup My colleague. Go check her profile she posts some inspiring things :) And follow me on @boredabdel #mysweden #thelocalsweden #sweden ??

When and why did you move to your city?

I moved last year in July for work. I was working for Google in Belgium and after four years I wanted a change, so I applied for an internal transfer and ended up in Stockholm. The choice is not by chance, I had visited Stockholm before for work and tourism and liked the city and I wanted to explore what it means to live in a Scandinavian country. No regrets so far.

Hi everyone. I just had a chance to introduce myself formally (after waking up from the food coma after visiting midan ?) My name is SGHIOUAR Abdellfetah but i go by Abdel, since my Arabic name is long and complicated for non Arabic speakers (i can tell you how it sounds in a story ?? Let me know what do you think in the comments) i ask people to call me Abdel, makes everyone's life easy. Originally from Morocco ?? i moved to Stockholm july last year after living 4 years in Belgium ??.I work @Google as an Engineer. I enjoy the outdoors a lot (when it's not freezing), Surfing (used to surf a lot in my home country and i still do when i can) Flying (i'm a student pilot but didn't make much progress since i moved here) reading and watching movies and travelling. I'm also a big fun of cooking. I may or may not have prepared something related to this ? Stay tuned :). So far i'm very happy living here. Sweden is an amazing country, despite the cold dark winter days, summer here is great. People are nice, i like the international feel of this city. I meet new people everyday from all the world and that's truley amazing. That's it, if you have questions let me know in the comments, go follow my account @boredabdel and i will probably some AMA stories during the week. #MySweden #TheLocalSweden

What do you love the most about your city?

Stockholm is nice. I like the international vibe and the size of the city makes it very convenient to go almost everywhere on foot or by bike; everything is very efficient in Sweden (administration, health care, public transport…). I live in Vasastan and I like it a lot, because it's very quiet, green (there's a forest ten minutes from my home where I go to run) and very clean.

What annoys you the most about your city?

I think the fact that everybody is minding their own business makes it difficult to make new friends. Most of my friends are expats and I have few Swedes in my social circle. I'm a very open, talkative and outgoing person and I enjoy having a chat with a random person, but it's very difficult to do that here.

How should I spend a day in your city?

Museums would be the best to do here. Go visit the Vasa Museum – a must-see in Stockholm – walk around Djurgården where you can find a few free ones. Visit Gamla Stan to get a glimpse of how old Stockholm used to be, on the way to the city centre stop by the Royal Palace. Food-wise there are a lot of restaurants serving all sorts of food. To name a few: Midan (Middle Eastern), Cloud Nine (Fusion), TAK (nice roof top with an amazing view), Barrel Burgers, Koreana, Waza, and Pressklubben has a great selection of Belgian beers.

What's a fun fact everyone knows about your city?

The city's subway is also known as the world's longest art gallery, with the majority of its stations adorned with paintings, sculptures and mosaics.

Stockholm summer is astonishing :) However one thing i never understood about Stockholm residents is that everyone vanishes during summer, people in my office take 4/6 weeks of vacation during summer when the weather is amazing (usually swedes spend summer vacations with kids and familly south of Sweden around Gothenburg area or up north) I however spend all my summer in Stockholm and take vacation in winter and go to warm places :). If you ever wanna visit Stockholm, summer is the best time with nice temperatures of around 20-25C (this year we had couple of very hot weeks around 36C, climat change is real people) And yeah i'm flying to Helsinki today and be back home tomorrow. Have a nice day everyone #thelocalsweden #mysweden
