Fortunately, no one was in the cable car cabin when the breakdown occurred as the cabin was located at the station.

The cable car link from Stand station to Titlis was out of action on Wednesday, but was operating normally on Thursday, June 7th, operators confirmed to The Local.

The popular Titlis Rotair cable car carries 2,000 to 3,000 people a day from Stand up to the Titlis mountain and the temporary stop to services is expected to cost up to 200,000 francs.

Operators said they were in contact with travel groups about the current status of repairs.
