In all but the Canatbrian coasts and pockets of the southeastern corner of the peninsular, where April showers are forecast on Friday, Spain is expected to remain dry.

Over the weekend, clear skies are forecast across Spain with just the occasional shower in the Balearics and south eastern coast around Almeria and Murcia.

Temperatures will soar to the high 20s across central Spain peaking at above 30C in Seville next Monday, according to predictions by the National Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

But  by mid-week, a storm approaching over the Atlantic will bring unpredictable weather, with temperatures expected to drop slightly.

Conditions look great for those intending to participate or watch the Easter processions.

But remember the traffic on Friday night and again at the start of the long Easter weekend is expected to be heavy as people leave the cities and head for their pueblos or the coast in what Spaniards dub Operacion Salida. (Operation Exit).
