Northwest wind to cool down Danish Spring
After a warm start to the spring over the weekend, temperatures this week will feel cooler again.
But weather will at least remain dry for most of the week, according to a forecast by the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI).
So even though the warm temperatures that graced the weekend are not likely to stay around, there are plenty of reasons to look forward to a week of spring weather, meteorologist Trine Pedersen of DMI told news agency Ritzau.
“It will be a mild week with fair amounts of sun. And as is characteristic of spring, the temperature will also vary a lot,” she said.
Monday will begin with a cloud-free sky in the west that will spread across the country, leaving most parts with sunshine and temperatures from 7-12°C (44-53°F).
“In some places it might reach 13°C [54°F], but it will get warmer as the week goes on,” said Pedersen.
On Tuesday, temperatures could reach up to 15°C (59°F), but will hover at around 10-13°C (50-55°F) in most places.
“But by Tuesday evening the clouds will begin to draw in from the west. Wednesday and Thursday will bring more northwesterly wind, so the temperature will fall to around ten degrees. But the wind will make it feel even cooler,” said Pedersen.
At this time of year cold temperatures north of Denmark can make the country feel cold when offshore winds draw them inland.
Friday will likely see temperatures as low as 10°C, reports Ritzau.
There is however unlikely to be much rain, with the exception of isolated showers on Wednesday and Thursday.
“Spring is the driest season we have. So this week is typical in regard to both temperature and precipitation,” said Pedersen.
