Sure, the trendy island of Södermalm has a lot to offer, but the urban mix (and associated price tag), may not be right for everyone.

"I’ve noticed it’s becoming more and more popular to move outside the city,” says Jordan Lane, an Australian architect living in Stockholm.

“There’s so much to explore, and there is proximity to everything."

In many ways, taking full advantage of all the Stockholm-area has to offer involves finding an address on the city's outskirts.
