Here's where you can expect harsh weather in Sweden on Wednesday
National weather agency SMHI issued a class-two warning (on a scale from one to three) of heavy snowfall and wind for south-western Sweden on Wednesday.
It said around 10-15 centimetres of snow or sleet was expected to fall within 12 hours, including winds of around eight metres a second with possible gusts measuring up to 21 m/s.
"It will then change to rain during the afternoon and evening before it moves on. Very high winds are expected," SMHI meteorologist Niklas Einevik told the Aftonbladet tabloid.
"Temperatures will hover around zero," he said, adding poor road conditions were expected.
SMHI also issued class-one warnings (the least serious kind) for the Skåne, Blekinge, Värmland, Örebro, Kalmar, Gotland, Bohuslän, eastern Jönköping, eastern Kronoberg, Södermanland and Stockholm regions.
Destination Gotland wrote that all ferries to and from the Baltic Sea islands would be cancelled on Wednesday.
Traffic authorities said several trains would also be cancelled, including at least Halmstad-Värnamo-Jönköping and Halmstad-Värnamo-Nässjö from Wednesday morning to Thursday noon.
