The Swede won both the Best New Artist and the Best Worldwide Act awards at the event held in Rotterdam’s Ahoy centre. In her first acceptance speech the 18-year-old said she was shocked.

“What? What? Wow! I didn’t expect this at all. Thanks so much to everyone who voted. Thanks to my family, sister and mum,” she said as she picked up her Best New Artist trophy.

“Thank you for being so patient. My album is coming soon. I also want to say thank you to my dad,” she added when picking up her second award.

Larsson also performed at the gala, and later took to Twitter to celebrate her wins.

It has been a huge year for the Solna native, who worked with French DJ David Guetta on the official song for the Uefa European Championship in the summer and also performed it with him at the opening ceremony in Paris.

In April meanwhile her MNEK collaboration ‘Never Forget You’ cracked the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 charts in the US, reaching number 15.
