Basel woman tied up and robbed in own home
A woman was tied up and injured by three burglars in her home in the canton of Basel-City on Tuesday morning.
The incident happened at around 10.30am on Tuesday, news agencies reported, citing information from the public prosecutor of Basel-City.
According to reports, the 52-year-old was on the phone to a relative when three burglars rang the doorbell.
The men then forcibly entered the woman’s home, grabbed her by the throat and tied her up, said news agencies.
They stole money, jewellery and a mobile phone from the woman, who was injured during events.
The thieves then fled the scene by car.
The victim was freed after her relative, who was on the line the whole time and heard what happened, notified the police.
