Are you dating a Frenchman (or trying to)? Here's the lowdown on where you might be going wrong.

Dating a French guy can be tricky at best, and according to the woman behind the blog "How to date a Frenchman", here is where you're (probably) going wrong.

1. You go nuts

The second you and your Frenchman have sex, you go a little crazy. You start asking him out and organizing weekends away. This is a turn off to Frenchmen who like to call the shots.

2. You're needy

"I’m free Monday through Sunday” does not come off as sexy. “I have other plans” does. Frenchmen prefer a challenge, not someone who lays it all out on a platter.

3. You need more notice

Frenchmen don’t organize dates ahead of time. They just text you last minute because they’re around the corner. If you want to date a Frenchman, you need to roll with it.

4. Your texts are boring

Frenchmen like texts to be fun and flirty. Not flat and factual. If you don't want your Frenchman to disappear on you, keep up the flirtation.

5. You get too comfortable

Wearing sweat pants and an old T-shirt is not a good look. Even if you and your Frenchman have been together a year, it's no excuse. Remember, Frenchmen have great taste in fashion.

6. You want to make plans

Mapping out your relationship with your Frenchman will get you nowhere. Because Frenchmen love to go with the flow. Want to discuss where you guys are heading? I wouldn't if I were you.

7. You don't like his friends

A Frenchman's circle of friends is super important to him. So getting on well with everyone is crucial, including his exes. Because yes, Frenchmen stay friends with their ex-crushes.

8. You get jealous

Every time your Frenchman flirts with other women, you get mad. Thing is, flirting is natural for Frenchmen. So suck it up.

9. You want to wait on sex

That's fine. But wait too long and your Frenchman will do a runner. Because Frenchmen have sex first then get to know you later.

10. You're too stressed

Frenchmen like to be in the moment so overanalyzing everything is a big no-no. Instead, just let it go and enjoy yourself.
