Police in the city, in the canton of Vaud, evacuated the main post office at Saint-Francois after employees raised the alert.

“We were alerted to the presence of a suspect package,” Lausanne police spokesman Sébastian Jost told Le Tribune de Genève.

A team of around 25 police officers were mobilized to secure the zone, allowing bomb disposal experts to intervene, said the paper.

The alert was lifted later in the morning after the offending package turned out to contain clothes, said the paper.
