Base jumper's body removed from Norway mountain

The body of a 38-year-old French base jumper who died in a fall on Thursday was removed from the mountainside on Tuesday, police announced.
Authorities announced on Friday that the man was presumed dead but that his location on a steep wall meant that rescuers would not be able to reach him for days.
Just before noon on Tuesday, the body was successfully recovered after lying in the mountains for more than five days.
According to Rolf Anders Korstad of the Møre and Romsdal police, the reason it took so long was a combination of bad weather and other priorities for the helicopter ambulance.
Police said they currently had no new information about how the man died.
The 38-year-old Frenchman is the fourth person to have died on the mountain since 2002, Adresseavisen reported.
In August 2002, a Molde man died and was also left on the mountain for several days. In August 2007, an Australian man died during a jump from neighbouring mountain Langrabbpiken and in June 2011 a base jumper from New Zealand died at Hårstadnebba, the popular base jumping location where the Frenchman lost his life.
