Sharks in Chatelet and Uber boats! Parisians see funny side of floods

In case you haven't heard there's a lot of water in Paris right now. But French Twitter users are refusing to see let their sense of humour be dampened.

With the Seine in Paris expected to reach its peak at 6.2 metres above normal levels on Friday afternoon, many in Paris are starting to get a bit worried.

Striking before and after photos of the rising waters show how familiar spots around Paris have been swallowed up by the Seine.

But instead of panicking or letting the depressing news get them down, some Twitter users in France are trying to see the lighter side of things (often with a little help from Photoshop).

To start, there are many inventive new modes of transport making the rounds.

Behold the new generation of RER commuter trains in Paris.

The city's bike rental service Velib also added its own helpful transport suggestions for commuters.

For her part, the Eiffel Tower is keeping dry as best as she can.

The Mona Lisa isn't letting a little moisture chase her out of her home.

One Twitter user looked ahead to the Euro 2016 football championship, suggesting a game of "Poolball" might be in order instead of football.

Another version of flipper-shoes is perfect for your commute and as a bonus, totally office-appropriate.

Just be sure to avoid the Chatelet Metro station on your way to work...

Although perhaps Chatelet aboveground is fine...as long as you're appropriately attired. The photo below is captioned: "Waiting for the bus at Chatelet with friends."

If your office looks like this, perhaps it's just best to work from home from the day... if you can make it back there.

Maybe traveling by boat is your best bet? But even they are not always on time.

"I've been waiting for my boat for 20 minutes," laments the Twitter user below.

"When can we expect Uber Boat?" someone else questioned.
