Research conducted by Dutch online valuation platform Equidam has uncovered the top 10 Danish startups that have enormous untapped potential.

Equidam analysed 7,000 startups in 78 countries using a number of parameters in order to find the companies with exceptional growth opportunity while not being on the main radar of investors or media websites.

"Copenhagen, and Denmark in general, are experiencing exceptional startup growth. Thanks to the presence of business schools such as CBS, the talent and the resources of Denmark are proving to be important assets in its future startup development," Equidam's Daniel Faloppa said in a statement provided to The Local.

"A large number of companies are growing under the radar. We believe they deserve to be discovered, and who knows, maybe one day become the champions of the Danish economy!" he added.

Here are Equidam's picks for the top ten undiscovered Danish startups:

1. Better Now betternow.org

Started in 2011 by web designers Bent Haugland and Martin Bjergegaard, Better Now is an online platform for Danish non-profit organisations. The platform enables customised fundraising pages to be created and shared online for either long or short-term fundraising drives. The company’s clients include big names like Doctors without Borders and Sverige för UNHCR, but can also be used by individuals raising money for organisations of their choice.

2. Nordsense nordsense.com

A Copenhagen-based software and electronics engineering company that designs equipment for remote sensing and monitoring, Nordsense was founded by graduates from Aalborg University and Technical University of Denmark.

3. Vaavud vaavud.com

Vaavud produces portable wind meters that provide high-resolution, personalised weather information by connecting to mobile apps. The inspiration for the company came from the idea of providing kitesurfers and windsurfers with a tool that enables them to share information about weather conditions in their current locations. According to the company’s website, the technology is now also used by sailors, paragliders, scientists and farmers.

 4. 3d Printhuset 3dprinthuset.dk

5. Plan Penny planpenny.com

A scheduling and personal planning app for professionals, Plan Penny uses drop and drag technology and integrates useful functions for professionals such as document and chart creation.

6. Cleady cleady.dk

Cleady is a middle-man service that sends cleaners or handymen to your home, at a time specifically selected by you, to clean, assemble furniture, help in the garden or just hang shelves. Like an Uber for housework, if you will.

7. Cortrium cortrium.com

A health technology startup that has developed electrodes into ‘smart devices’ that can measure body surface temperature, activity and respiration rate. Cortium aims to add further testing capabilities, such as blood pressure, into its devices. The company hopes that its technology, which was recently approved for clinical trials in Denmark, will “truly take healthcare into the 21st century.”

8. Foopla foopla.dk

Want an app that does your grocery shopping for you? Foopla connects consumers with local sellers of fresh produce so that fruits and veggies can be bought and collected locally and conveniently.

9. zenbu social zenbusocial.com

One for the social media enthusiasts, zenbu social helps you to avoid becoming ‘that’ person who spams friends’ news feeds with useless information.

10. Returntool returntool.com

A tool that enables businesses to build marketing apps of their own. Returntool apps can be used to send special offers, vouchers or coupons and gather consumer data.
