Two Spaniards face jail over snapping car crash corpse

Two residents of La Seu d’Urgell in Catalonia face up to five years in jail after photographing a dead girl as she lay by the roadside following a traffic accident and posting it to social media.

The teenage girl, a student at Joan Brudeiu high school, died in a car accident on January 22nd, according to a report in La Vanguardia.

Her greiving parents were then horrified to discover that images of their dead daughter had been posted to social media and reported it to the Catalan police force Mossos d’Esquadra.

Police were able to trace the two responsible and have questioned them.

The pair face charges for "invasion of privacy"  under article 193.3 of Spain's Criminal Code, which states that taking photgraphs without consent can be punishable wihtwo to five years in prison.
