Doggy freestyle: Swedish pooch catches train by herself
An adventurous four-legged stowaway was let off with a warning and a cuddle after she bagged a free ride on a morning commuter train in southern Sweden.
Doris the dog has been warming hearts in Sweden after the story of how she sneaked onto a rush-hour train from Kungsbacka to Falkenberg without her owner went viral.
"Train-Doris, yes! She was off her leash and there was the train, so she dashed on board," police officer Christer Björk told the Expressen tabloid after posting her tale on Facebook.
The plucky pet is used to accompanying her owner on his half-hour commute between the two Swedish towns – but had managed to get on without her travel companion on Friday.

Train passengers first raised the alarm after noticing that the friendly ticket collecter was not only shorter and furrier than normal, but also appeared to be roaming the aisle alone.
"After some intelligence work, we located Doris' owner who came to the police station in Falkenberg and collected the fugitive," wrote Björk on Falkenberg police's Facebook page.
"She was a very pleasant acquaintance," he added.
The identity of Doris' owner and the dog's breed have not been revealed publicly, but one Facebook user commented that she looked like she could be a Bichon Havanais.
"It's one of those hairy, lively little things. She probably charmed all passengers on board," laughed Björk.
"I've never experienced a dog riding the train by herself and I've been a police officer for almost 27 years!"
Doris was not the only independent canine traveller hitting the headlines on Monday. In France another beloved dog disappeared for a whole day after catching the Paris metro from a suburb into the city centre.
"It's a miracle," his grateful owner told French media after being reunited with her pet.
