If their google searches are anything to go by, Spaniards are a nation of telly addicts who have a keen interest in how to become hackers.

Spaniards were interested in finding out the latest goings on in Big Brother, as well as deeper philosophical questions such as "how to be happy?" and "how to be beautiful?" according to the rankings of the most search for terms in 2015, released this week by Google.

Spaniards love reality TV judging by their google searches in 2015. The most searched for item was Gran Hermano 15 (Big Brother 15), while The Voice Kids and survival programme Survivers both also featured in the top ten.

Spaniards were concerned with current affairs, their searches revealed.

Paris was one of the most searched for words, as was Charlie Hebdo, referring to the attacks on the French capital at the beginning and end of 2015.

Spaniards are also politically savvy. "Elections" was the fourth most searched for term, and "local elections" was the tenth.

The most searched for "How to be...?" question was "how to be happy?" while a few more surprising additions to the list included "how to be a hacker?" and "how to be a model?" which was the second most searched term.

The most common "What will happen if...?" question spoke of Spaniards' concerns over one of the biggest political issues of 2015: "What will happen if Catalonia declares independence?"
