A Sunday afternoon flight bound for Paris was delayed after the captain had a man removed over comments he made on board.

Copenhagen Police said on Sunday that a man was kicked off a flight headed to Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris.

“We can confirm that we removed a man from the plane and that it was due to the captain having noted suspicious behaviour from the man,” police spokesman Michael Andersen told TV2 News.

Police did not give any details about what prompted the captain to ask for the man’s removal but Andersen said it had to do with comments the man made in the cabin.

“He said something in the plan that created some uncertainty,” he told Berlingske.

The man in question was not a Danish citizen but police did not immediately release any additional information.

The flight to Paris was delayed by 45 minutes before departing at 4.30pm.

The incident comes just two weeks after Copenhagen Police evacuated part of the airport after two Greek businessmen joked about having a bomb. One of the men also quipped that he was wanted in connection with the terror attacks in Paris that left 130 people dead.

Those two men were released from jail on Wednesday but have had their passports confiscated so that they cannot leave Denmark without facing trial. They are charged with violating Article 266 of the Danish Penal Code, which deals with the incitement of fear through the threat of carrying out an illegal action.
