The free service, which will be funded through advertising sales, is available at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat, Palma de Mallorca, Málaga, Vigo, Santiago de Compostela, La Coruña, Tenerife Norte, Tenerife Sur, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura y Las Palmas.

But the state-operator AENA has said that all 46 airports and two heliports within Spain will be able to provide the service by the end of 2015, providing free Wi-Fi to an estimated 200 million passengers a year.

However, the free Wi-Fi service operated by Eurona Telecom will be limited to 2 megabytes of data for free with those wishing to upgrade to purchase 10 megabytes within a 24 hour period at a cost of €4.90.

Frequent flyers may wish to consider investing in the monthly package for €15.

The service will replace the Kubi Wireless currently on offer that provides free Wi-Fi for up to 45 minutes.
