Denmark is a great place for museum lovers. From modern art to ancient civilization, the Nordic country can provide visitors with almost any kind of museum experience.

Despite this, the 2015 edition of influential travel site TripAdvisor's list of the world's best museums, released on Tuesday, doesn't place any Danish museum among the 25 best in the world or even among the best in Europe.

The list, based on user recommendations, includes Vasa Museum in Stockholm as the only Nordic entry among its global top 25.

Along with the global and regional rankings, TripAdvisor also included the following picks for the ten best museums in Denmark.

1. Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
Located in Humlbæk, 40 kilometres north of Copenhagen, Louisiana shows both contemporary art and modernist classics. The museum opened its doors in 1958 with the intention of being the home of Danish art, but the course has changed throughout the years and Louisiana is now a truly international museum with many renowned works.
