Will Eurovision star Måns host next contest?
Rumours are swirling that ‘Heroes’ Eurovision 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlow will present the next contest in Stockholm in 2016. But Swedish broadcaster SVT has so far denied the plan.
Swedish pinup Måns Zelmerlöw is no stranger to presenting, having previously hosted Stockholm’s legendary outdoor singalong show Allsång på Skansen.
While he’s been tipped as a possible Eurovision 2016 host for months, Swedish tabloid Expressen this week quoted a source suggesting he is “one of two names [Swedish broadcaster] SVT wants”.
Meanwhile the Aftonbladet newspaper has reported that he had already accepted the assignment.
“It is not true, but there is a list of a number of interesting names,” Lili Assefa, a press officer for SVT’s Eurovision 2016 show told Expressen on Tuesday.
But she added that a number of candidates had been approached to confirm their availability, should they be formally offered the job.

The other presenter being tipped by the tabloids as a possible co-host for Zelmerlöw is Petra Mede, a Swedish comedienne, dancer and television host who previously worked on Melodifestivalen, the annual talent contest that decides on Sweden’s Eurovision entry.
The Globe Arena in Stockholm was announced in June as the venue for the next Eurovision competition, which will take place three years after Malmö in southern Sweden organized the show.
Måns Zelmerlöw's victory with his track Heroes, was the Nordic country's sixth Eurovision title, with only Ireland scoring more wins (seven) in the history of the competition.
Sweden's most famous group of all time, Abba, gave the nation its first taste of success in the contest back in 1974.
