Swede accused of spying for Hezbollah in Israel
A Swedish national has been charged in Israel on suspicion of having spied on Israeli military facilities which the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah planned to attack.
According to a statement by Israeli security services Shin Bet, the man has allegedly admitted to working for Hezbollah, providing “evidence that Hezbollah is planning a new war against Israel”.
Swedish news agency TT said the suspect was arrested in Tel Aviv on July 21st on suspicion of having collected information about Israeli military facilities that the militant group planned to target.
No further information was immediately available.
