Swedish summer sun set to make a comeback
Could it be true? After weeks of grim weather, summer is once again on the horizon for Sweden (albeit temporarily.)
After a weekend of rain and thunderstorms, the grey skies show no sign of shifting. But don’t despair. According to forecasters the sun is set to make a comeback next weekend.
“This week the weather will be unstable with patches of rain passing through Sweden,” Martin Hedberg, meteorologist at the Swedish Weather Centre told Aftonbladet.
“But at the height of the weekend and early next week there will be high pressure. Above all there will be a little drier air coming in from the continent.”
According to the national weather institute SMHI, temperatures are set to rise ahead of the weekend. The forecast is good news for Stockholm’s annual gay pride celebrations, with the pride parade set to hit the streets of Stockholm on Saturday.

Hedberg said Öland and Gotland were most likely to get good weather.
"[The forecast] is always more uncertain in areas further inland because showers are easily formed. So if you can stick to the coasts or nearby it is good," he said.
The meteorologist added that it was possible that the warm weather would return in later in August and even in September.
This year Sweden experienced the wettest May in decades and a series of heavy downpours this summer.
