Sweden gripped by royal wedding countdown

With just six days to go until Prince Carl Philip's fiancée Sofia Hellqvist formally becomes a Swedish princess, the former reality TV star has told Swedish media the couple is both "excited" and "tense".
Sofia Hellqvist will become Europe's newest princess on Saturday, when she finally ties the knot with Prince Carl Philip, a year after he proposed to the television star turned charity fundraiser.
The 30-year-old has told Swedish television network TV4 that she can't wait to formally become part of the royal family, six years after starting to date her fiance.
"It's very cool in many ways and I am proud of it," she told the broadcaster.
She added that she was aware that the prince lived in "a special world" and said that she was looking forward to joining him in representing Sweden on the global stage.
"I've got to participate in a large part of his life and play an active role within the royal family and represent Sweden," she said.
But the future royal admitted that the couple was experiencing pre-wedding jitters.
"We are very excited. And a little tense."
The princess's interview came a week after the couple told Swedish newswire TT that they had fallen in love due to a shared approach to life.
“When we started seeing each other later, I understood what a wonderful person she is,” the Swedish prince said of his fiancée, adding she was “down to earth” and had a “delightful outlook on life”.
“I think you notice pretty immediately when you meet Carl Philip that he is a very humble and kind person. I felt that almost from the start,” Hellqvist told TT.
The royals' wedding on June 13th is set to be a grand affair, with the Swedish media already whipping up excitement for the event.
A legally-binding church service will take place in the Royal Chapel at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, starting at 4.30pm, followed by a horse and carriage procession around the city.
The wedding will be officiated by the King’s chaplain Lars-Göran Lönnermark and Pastor Michael Bjerkhagen, who were also present at the wedding of Princess Madeleine and Christopher O’Neill, who married two years ago in the same church.
In the evening, Swedish DJ Avicii and duo Icona Pop are set to perform for the wedding guests following a lavish banquet.
“I met Carl Philip in Ibiza, where we got to hang out and talk for some time. He is so damn cool and a really good guy, actually. Humble,” Avicii recently told Swedish radio station NRJ.
