Sweden's Eurovision star sets global charts alight
There is no stopping Europe's new star Måns Zelmerlöw, who is taking the continent's music charts by storm after soaring to victory in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 and was just shy of a place in the UK's top 10 on Sunday.
Zelmerlöw soared into 11th place in the UK's Official Singles Chart – one of the most prestigious charts in Europe – with his track 'Heroes' on Sunday, behind artists such as Jason Derulo with 'Want to Want Me', Taylor Swift feat. Kendrick Lamar with 'Bad Blood' and fellow Swedish duo Galantis with 'Runaway (U&I)'.

But it was a slightly more modest performance than had been predicted earlier in the week, when there was much speculation he'd get a place in the top five.
He also failed to do as well as previous Swedish winner Loreen, whose hit 'Euphoria' broke into the Official Singles Chart at number three in 2012.
Since winning Eurovision in Vienna just over a week ago, 28-year-old Måns Zelmerlöw has been travelling from country to country on his promotional tour of 'Heroes', which went straight to the top as number one on both Spotify and iTunes just after Eurovision. The single also broke into Germany's official singles charts on Friday at number three.

His next Sweden gig, at Gothenburg's most iconic theme park, Liseberg, on June 5th, is likely to be as packed as his concerts in Stockholm and his home town of Lund last week, as the Zelmerlöw craze shows no sign of dying down.

Meanwhile, Sweden has started getting ready to host Eurovision 2016. It has not yet been confirmed which city will get the musical honour, but Malmö, Gothenburg and Stockholm are all likely contenders.
But the uncertainty is not going to stop the most diehard Eurovision fans from making their preparations to travel to the Nordic country next year. First Hotel in Solna, close to Friends Arena, one of the probably candidates to host the stage show, is already fully booked for the week of Eurovision 2016, according to Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet.

Sweden is one of the most successful Eurovision competitors, with previous winners including Abba in 1974, the Herrey brothers in 1984, Swedish icon Carola in 1991, Charlotte Nilsson with 'Take Me to Your Heaven' in 1999 and Loreen in 2012.
