Peter Mangs, one of Sweden's most infamous serial attackers, claims he once returned home to fetch a gun after spotting Zlatan Ibrahimovic's car illegally parked on a pavement.

The serial shooter, who carried out a string of attacks in the southern Swedish city of Malmö between 2003 and 2010, made the claims in a new book he has written about his life.

The 43-year-old said he became angry after spotting the football player's red Ferrari, describing Ibrahimovic's illegal parking as “typically Balkan behaviour”, referring to the star striker's Bosnian heritage.

The killer said that he went to get his gun, and when he returned to the spot, the car was gone.

He wrote: “I thought there would be a proper hullabaloo in the media if the gent in question were to be shot.”

The book also gives details of Mangs' life growing up in Småland in southern Sweden and outlines his hatred of Jewish people and others with immigrant backgrounds.

He appears to show little remorse for his actions, although he says that he ended up almost wanting to be arrested, as he could not contemplate a life in a real world dominated by "multiculturalism" and "mass consumption".

Mangs was sentenced to life in prison in 2013 for two murders and eight attempted murders.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was brought up in southern Sweden and started his career with Malmö FF is the Nordic nation's top striker in history and captain of the Swedish national team.

He has been playing for Paris side PSG since 2012.
