Two remanded for Gothenburg gang murder
Two young men have been remanded into custody on suspicion of the murder of a 55-year-old man in Gothenburg on Wednesday.
The men have also been remanded on alternative charges of being an accessory to murder and aggravated assault.
One of the men is furthermore is suspected of serious drug offences.
The formal remand court proceedings will be held in Gothenburg District Court later on Sunday.
Two further men arrested after the murder in the Hisingen area of the city were released on Saturday. Two other men were arrested.
The attack took place around five kilometres away from another deadly shooting at a restaurant in Hisingen in March. Two people died and eight others were injured following the incident in the Biskopsgården suburb and the event sparked a national debate about gun crime in Sweden's second largest city.
The slaying was followed by further fatal shooting on Thursday of a man in his thirties in a parking lot in Angered, about 13 kilometres from the city centre.
Police have not arrested any suspects in connection with the shooting. While police believe that there is no direct link between the two killings they are both thought to involve criminal gangs.
