With spring well underway in Sweden, it's the perfect time to get out of your apartment. How does an indie pop gig, artisan coffee tasting or an Irish-Swedish modern drama sound? For the brainiacs among you, we've thrown in an international science festival too.

Swedish indie pop writer Joel Alme is performing at Debaser Medis in Stockholm on Friday, April 10th. The world fell in love with his music after it featured in US director Joe Swanberg's 2014 Sundance Film Festival hit 'Happy Christmas', starring Anna Kendrick and Lena Dunham.

Alme's new album, 'Flyktligan', is entirely in Swedish, but we're sure his global audience will love it anyway. Doors at Debaser Medis open at 7pm and Alme is set to take the stage at 11pm. Entry is free before 8pm and 120 kronor thereafter.

Everyone who has ever sat down for a 'fika' (coffee and cake) with a Swede knows that they are massive caffeine addicts. In fact, Swedes drink on average three cups of coffee a day. And on Saturday, April 11th, Helsingborg in southern Sweden offers a special event for coffee lovers.

Brandon Loper's 'A Film About Coffee' tells the story of how the coffee bean travels from farms in Honduras and harvests in Rwanda to artisan cafés in San Francisco, Tokyo and New York. It will be shown for the first time in Sweden at Röda Kvarn in Helsingborg at 5pm and 8pm. If it tickles your taste buds, Helsingborg coffee roastery Koppi will organize a coffee tasting session at 6pm. Entry to both events costs 100 kronor each. Tickets for the latter need to be booked in advance.
