An Italian academic at University College London has been dubbed the world’s hottest maths teacher, being picked up by one of the UK's top modelling agencies.

Like thousands of other Italians, 26-year-old Pietro Boselli has left the bel paese behind and launched a successful career in London.

According to his professional LinkedIn profile, he has since 2010 passed his time amongst the pillars of learning at University College London (UCL).

Boselli’s expertise in engineering has given him the chance to teach topics such as thermodynamics for turbo-machinery, no less, and mathematical engineering.

But it was his talent at another sort of modelling that has caught the world’s attention, seeing him named the “world’s hottest maths teacher” in Italy and elsewhere.

Boselli is signed to Models 1, a leading London-based agency which has in the past had Sophie Dahl and Twiggy on its books.

The academic’s sculpted figure aroused the suspicions of his students, who put two and two together last year, but it was not until this month that the Italian became a global hit.

When contacted by The Local, Boselli was not immediately available to discuss his modelling aspirations.

He claims on LinkedIn to be skilled at numerical analysis and Microsoft Excel, while he is also building a reputation as a sporty chap.

Based on images posted on photo sharing app Instagram, the teacher-model is a fan of lifting weights, climbing, swimming and cycling. So much so that, as the below photo demonstrates, he occasionally combines the latter two.

... And never stop

Like many young Italian men, Boselli is keen on taking selfies. He also likes to drink coconut milk but laments he just doesn’t have time to indulge while at the gym.

Internet users appear to have been captivated by his hazel eyes and oft-exposed chest, which according to Models 1 measures in at 107cm. Boselli is also notably taller than the average Italian, at 185cm.

People on Instagram have responded enthusiastically to his posts, leaving comments such as, “I would never miss a class!!!” and “how can you be so perfect?”
