Police arrest Vienna bomb hoax caller
Police have arrested a 26-year-old man suspected of making up to ten hoax bomb threat calls in Vienna.
On Wednesday police received a call shortly after 10am from an anonymous caller who said that he had left a bomb in a suitcase in a building in Wien-Landstrasse. A police team found no explosives but did notice a young man watching their activities with great interest.
They arrested him on suspicion of having made the hoax call and he confessed to calling in with another bomb threat at Austria’s largest radio station, Ö3, in January, as well as claiming to have left a bomb at the Wien Energie headquarters.
