Bildt works as babysitter on Swedish reality show
Former Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt has been given a cautious thumbs up for his child-minding abilities after appearing on a Swedish Celebrity Babysitter show.
Bildt is one of 12 familiar faces who is competing for the honour of best celebrity babysitter 2014 on the popular series which airs on Sweden's children's channel (barnkanalen).
The ex-prime minister was tasked with hosting four young Swedish children who rated their stay with him based on three categories; food, fun and bedtime routine.
The show was filmed when Bildt was still serving as Sweden's foreign minister earlier this year. He was docked points when he elected to send his secretary to show his young guests around the foreign office headquarters in Stockholm, with one of the kids saying "points dropped" after the episode.
Despite getting off to a shaky start Bildt impressed the quartet when they watched him participate in a parliamentary debate with one of them saying "he has a pretty nasty job".

Bildt didn't have much time to indulge the kids with stories as part of the bedtime routine and he didn't have a great deal of time to play with them either. The kids reported that they weren't blown away with the foreign office menu, although Bildt did try to placate them by dishing out candy and cookies.
Although Bildt is unlikely to be hired as a babysitter by the kids in future they did concede that he was a "totally alright decent person" who probably irks his family by working too much.
Other Swedish celebrities taking part in the programme include singer Sean Banan, Pop Idol judge Anders Bagge and Swedish actress Claudia Galli who reckoned Bildt would be a good contender.
"I think he could be a lot of fun. I get the feeling he wouldn't treat the children like children but more as adults," she told Aftonbladet.
His career as a babysitter was short-lived and Bildt has since taken up a new role working for a non-profit organization that works to prevent violent conflict.
The programme featuring Carl Bildt will be broadcast over the Christmas period.
