Get tuned in to Sweden: Useful online services
The longer you're in Sweden, the more you learn about life and getting around...but it can still be confusing. Here are a few valuable online resources to help you out.
1. Transportation
Many local transportation websites offer extra options when you register your travel card online. For instance, at sl.se you can check and refill your SL card balance, or request a new card if you have lost it. Check out the site for your region. If your region is not listed, just do a google search for your city's name and 'trafiken'. You should find it.

2. Healthcare
Most of the healthcare information you will find online will be in Swedish, although there is a bit of information available in other languages as well. 1177.se has some information in 17 languages, for instance, and the page will link you to other helpful resources. For dental care you can search for 'folktandvården' in your city.
If you have a Swedish personal number you can also create a personal account on several sites, or book appointments online.

Here you can find your local dental care venue among the public clinics. The most of the clinics also have own websites with online registration and booking services.
3. Networking
meetup.com (in English)
The popular web-platform designed for meeting up people with similar interests. Here you can find next events on chosen topics: from IT-startups and webprogramming to knitting and scrap-booking. Can you even think of a hobby which is not represented in Sweden local communities? Try it!

ticnet.se (in English)
The biggest Swedish online-shop providing tickets for a wide range of events: concerts, sports, festivals, fairs and exhibitions.
Your school's calendar
Most universities have a school calendar. Ask an administrator or search online.
For example, here are event calendars for Stockholm, KTH, Lund, Linköping, Jönköping, and Umeå.
5. Local services
blocket.se (in Swedish)
Basicly it's the 'Swedish craigslist' providing classified ads on different categories from housing to clothing. The perfect platform to find some cheap second hand electronics or furniture.
stockholm.se/simma-och-trena (in Swedish)
The public gyms and swimming pools are very widespread in Stockholm and the other Swedish cities. This site is for Stockholm, but you can search for a similar site in your area.
Normally you can find a map with public sports facilities at the official webpage of the city administration. The good news that these services are quite inexpensive and placed almost in every living area, so it's definitely worth checking!
