Swedish football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has struck a deal with clothing chain Dressman, with plans announced to launch a new brand in the sporting department.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is far better known for his footballing skills and his arrogant attitude than his sense of fashion. But all that might change, with the Swede teaming up with Norwegian clothing chain Dressman, which has previously worked with names such as the Rolling Stones.

Representatives from Dressman haven't given away much.

"We're talking about a guy who might be the most exciting sports personality in the world right now," Marketing Director Knut Vidar Nilsen told the TT news agency.

But Nilsen refused to elaborate on what exactly shoppers can expect, nor when they could expect it.

Swedish branding expert Niklas Turner Olovzon said that the fact Zlatan was teaming up with a low-priced clothes shop wasn't so strange.

"Dressman targets the male audience among the Swedes, and Zlatan is an extremely strong messenger for them," he said.

He added that the footballer's strength in entering the fashion world may be that he's relatively unknown in it.

Zlatan himself said in a statement that Dressman's "business culture and winner's mentality made for a perfect match".

The Swede has recently had high profile endorsements from companies including Volvo and Nike. His commercial for Volvo garnered over 5 million hits on YouTube.
