Norway's top female boxing star, Cecilia Brækhus, was warned by her rival on Thursday she could face a surprise defeat during this weekend's bout in Copenhagen.

Jennifer Retzke warned Brækhus against taking it too easy on Saturday’s World Championship match in Copenhagen at a press conference in the city.

The German failed to show at an earlier press conference this week in Oslo, but had plenty to say in Denmark.

Retzke saidl: “I'm aware that Cecilia is the World Champion in four different associations and that she possesses four master belts, but I know what I’m going for. I'm more than prepared to meet the best. That is why not only Brækhus, but the whole world of boxing will get a surprise when I leave Denmark with all the four belts.”

Promoter Nisse Sauerland was critical of retzke's "no show" this week and called the boxer and her management "complete idiots”.

Brækhus will fight her twenty-seventh professional match on Saturday and the Norwegian citizen has won all twenty-six previous. Brækhus goes into the duel as clear favourite.

But Retzke does not quite agree.

She said: "I've been training twice a day. I know I have to show something extra when I’m going to meet the best in the world. That is why my training has  been special before this match. I’m now prepared to give the world a surprise and teach Brækhus a lesson in boxing.”

Brækhus’s coach, Otto Ramin, is not afraid of her hitting the wall against Retzke.

Ramin said on Thursday: "Cecilia is a complete boxer. She is all together better than Jennifer Retzke. Retzke is a bit similar to Ivana Habazin. She will not pose a challenge or make it difficult and dangerous for Cecilia in the ring.”

He added: "Cecilia will show everyone how attractive women’s boxing can be.”

Brækhus is also not in doubt about who is the best fighter.

Brækhus said: "I have great respect for my competitor. I always have, but I still have to say that Jennifer Retzke and I are not on the same league. She is not on my level. This is what you will see and what Retzke will feel on Saturday night.”

She taunted Jennifer Retzke in Oslo on Tuesday, where the German didn’t turn up, and Brækhus repeated her threats straight into her rival's face on Thursday afternoon.

The two of them will fight about the World Championship titles of the World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Council (WBC), World Boxing Organization (WBO) og International Boxing Federation (IBF) in welterweight division on Saturday.
