Domnica Cemortan, the former lover of Costa Concordia captain Francesco Schettino, said he has until tomorrow to “tell the truth” over the moments after the fatal cruise ship crash, or she will reveal all.

Writing on Facebook on September 23rd, Cemortan said: “Francesco Schettino, I give you just one week to tell the TRUTH about what happened IMMEDIATELY after you did the announcement to abandon ship. ONE WEEK.”

In an interview with gossip magazine Oggi, Cemortan said she was ready to reveal new information in an interview planned with presenter Barbara d'Urso.

Schettino is currently on trial for multiple manslaughter following the shipwreck in January 2012, which left 32 people dead and prompted an unprecedented salvage operation.

Cemortan was spotted by several passengers drinking with Schettino on the night of the crash.

The blonde 25-year-old ballerina initially said she was dining with friends at the time of the crash and denied the captain was also having drinks on deck. Testifying in court last October, however, she admitted to having dinner with the captain and confessed to being his lover.

"Yes, I had a liaison with Francesco Schettino," said Cemortan, who has dual Moldovan and Romanian citizenship. “I already knew Schettino, I ate with him in the restaurant, I had a dessert with the captain.”

Cemortan has in the past defended the captain, saying that his actions saved thousands of lives.

Schettino has denied wrongdoing, claiming the crash was caused when his Indonesian helmsman misunderstood a vital order.
