Renowned Austrian conductor Wolfgang Scheidt has written an open letter to explain his anger at the treatment a number of people have allegedly received from a pair of inexperienced music festival promoters.

Update: August 2018 - Note from Wolfgang Sheidt:

"By order of the court I am obliged to revoke reproaches and accusations against Thérèse Mahler and Jonathan Floril in my „Open letter“ from August 22nd 2014."

Full revocation published below.

Scheidt was invited to conduct a series of master classes as part of something called the Mahler Philharmonic Society.

Serious allegations of misconduct and even fraud surfaced relating to the organisers of the little-known event. Several disgruntled singers who were accepted into their 2014 Salzburg Voice Festival (no connection to the official Salzburg Festival) have outlined a litany of complaints against them.

The conductor has offered to help those affected by offering free master classes.
